Milan

...center of fashion

Seat of the Lombardy region, it is one of the most populated cities in Europe.

In the past century Milan established itself as the 'Italian financial capital', becoming a crossroad of financial, economic and cultural exchange. One reason for this is surely due to the fashion market; in fact, important Italian and foreign high fashion brands have their headquarters there: (Armani, Valentino, Prada and Missoni just to name a few). Shopping par excellence is the area in Milan known as the "Fashion Quadrilateral", so named because it is shaped by four main shopping streets - Via Montenapoleone, Via Manzoni, Via della Spiga, and Corso Venezia.

Milan is also known for its night-life, with numerous clubs and establishments located throughout the various city zones. There are often varied and original events. The neighborhoods most known for their night-life are Navigli e Brera, but due to construction in view of the l’Expo 2015, the nearby areas are enjoying renewed nocturnal vitality.

Like every Italian city, Milan too is a city of art. Its most famous monument is the Duomo di Milano, the cathedral dedicated to St Mary Nascente. Another well-known monument is the Sforzesco Castle.

An assortment of museums and art galleries make Milan an ideal place to satisfy different tastes and passions. If time allows, visit the art gallery in Brera, the Ambrosiana pinacoteca or the Triennale di Milano, where you can view modern art.
