Antonio Amodio: The Biography

Born in Verona in 1972, Antonio Amodio began his artistic career at just 14 years old, focusing on sculpture and bas-relief. A student of Giovanni Massagrande, he refined his skills in wood and stone carving before transitioning to painting, distinguished by essential strokes that explore the depths of the human soul. A pivotal moment came when he met Giacomo Manzù in Rome, which granted his art greater expressive freedom and led him to experiment with lost-wax casting, a technique he used to create works for both public and private collections. Fascinated by Europe's great capitals, he captured the essence of cities like Madrid, Lisbon, Istanbul, Vienna, and Venice in his drawings and sculptures. In 1995, he formed an important friendship and collaboration with Venetian painter and sculptor Saverio Barbaro. His works are now part of prestigious collections, including those of the Vatican City, the Italian Senate, and private collections in the United States and Russia.
